A Windsor, Ont. McDonald's has closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
The company announced a crew member at the 3354 Dougall Ave. location reported they had tested positive in a release Friday — the employee last worked on March 31.
According to External Communications Manager for Corporate Relations Ryma Boussoufa, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit confirmed the positive test.
In the release, Boussoufa says the location has been closed so a third party company can clean and sanitize the restaurant, "out of an abundance of caution."
He goes on to say all crew members who may have been in contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine until further notice.
Any guests who may have visited the restaurant on March 31 should consult local health officials for guidance, according to the release.
