The union representing Catholic teachers in Ontario has announced it is stepping up job action to back contract demands.
Beginning January 13th, Catholic teachers will be taking part in administrative job action which means they will not be doing report cards, participating in EQAO testing or attending ministry initiatives.
In November, members of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association or OECTA, voted 97.1% in favour of strike action.
"We have been doing our part to negotiate an agreement, including meeting almost 40 times with the government and school board trustees," says Liz Stuart, President of OECTA.
There are 1,800 Catholic teachers, both high school and elementary, in Windsor-Essex.
