A long serving pro in the world of radio, Mike is known for his relentless and canny take on anything and everything. Mike began his career rocking the waves as an overnight radio DJ on 89X, landing him a spot as "man on the street" on AM800. Hard work, determination and of course his raw talent, landed him a spot to co-host the local morning show "The Morning Drive" which he's been helping make a success for the past 7 years. Steve Bell: Steve was born and raised in Kincardine, Ontario, attended W.E. Thompson Grade School and Kincardine for Grade 9, but switched and graduated Grade 13 from Walkerton District Secondary. He earned a General Arts Diploma in 1978 from Humber College in Toronto, and graduated from Fanshawe College in London with a Radio Broadcasting Diploma in 1980. Steve also won several awards in college including “Most Promising Broadcaster” in 1979, “Radio Writer of the Year”, and “Broadcaster of the Year” in 1980. His first full-time radio job was at CKSO in Sudbury but has been in the Windsor market at both CKWW and CKLW for more than 28 years. In terms of sports he has covered everything from the Superbowl and Major League Baseball All Star Game to Indy Car Races and the Ryder Cup in golf. Hockey is Steve’s true passion and although not much of a player as a kid, the love for the game never died. He’s covered numerous games of the Stanley Cup Champion Wings in Detroit but play by play is where he found a home. Steve has called somewhere around 1500 OHL games for The Windsor Spitfires and is also the morning sports voice on AM800 CKLW radio in Windsor and 580 CKWW as well. Armand Bumanlag: After attending St. Christopher and Notre Dame Elementary Schools and Holy Names High School, Arms worked in retail management for 4 years. Feeling the need to explore new options, Armand attended school in Southfield, Michigan at the Specs Howard School Of Broadcast Arts. Armand graduated with honours from the Radio program taking away the “Most Informative News Anchor” award and went back for a second concentration in television production, graduating with honours and winning the “Outstanding Talent Performance” award in 2004. Armand also began to intern with AM800’s sister station in 2004, and within 2 months he was hired as a part time producer on AM800 working overnights, weekends, The Morning Drive, The Lynn Martin Show, Windsor Now and various other programs. In 2005, Armand made the jump to promotions. Armand also became involved with a number of charities in the region including the Canadian Cancer Society and the Multicultural Council of Windsor Essex. In mid 2007, Armand transitioned from behind the scenes to on-air, becoming the “On The Street” Reporter for the Morning Drive with Mike and Lisa, Host of the Noon Report, and the new show "Sunday Morning Live". In November of 2007, Armand was named “Pilot Of The Airwaves” by listeners in Windsor Essex at the Biz X Oscars Awards. In 2008, Arms was ecstatic to help launch the hour long Noon Report on AM800. In his spare time, Armand is an avid movie buff and television junkie with an extensive collection of DVDs, an expert video gamer and enthusiast, writes for local publications, DJ’s, and volunteers when he can.
