On September 7th, 1949, CKLW increased its power to 50,000 watts. It became the first station in North America to establish an unattended transmitter operation. During the 30's and 40's, CKLW aired an eclectic mix of programming. It featured some well known broadcasters like Joe Gentile and Toby David. In the 40's and 50's, other personalities included Bud Davies, and Sportscaster Bud Lynch. In the late 50's and early 60's, Robin Seymour, Joe Vann, and Ron Knowles were well known broadcasters on CKLW.
